Manitoba is known around the world as an exciting multicultural community, Manitobans of all
origins come together every year in many celebrations of our cultural diversity and heritage. This
practice has become a part of our community tradition, and an important tourist attraction.
The Winnipeg Carnival Association Inc. explores the Caribbean heritage, traditions, & culture in
one of the most colourful pageants of the year. The sounds of calypso, soca & steel drums bring
to life the vibrant islands heritage on the prairies.
One of the most important factors in the promotion of Manitoba's multicultural celebrations is the
tremendous support the various ethno-cultural groups receive from the business community in
terms of sponsor/partnerships and donations.
We the Winnipeg Carnival Association Inc, will be hosting our annual Carnival Celebrations of
events. We have nine scheduled events that lead into our Carnival Weekend of August 15/16/09,
and three events after our Celebration. Come enjoy our Caribbean Celebrations on the Prairies,
partake in traditional foods, and listen to the music, dance, and taste the World Class Caribbean
punch.
